Recently, the term “5G” has been gaining a lot of attention. 5G refers to the fifth-generation mobile phone standard, also known as fifth-generation mobile communication technology. However, today, the concept of 5G is no longer limited to just communications. Some time ago, I came across a video about the applications of 5G. 5G enables people and objects in different locations to connect with each other, seamlessly integrating remote virtual reality and the Internet of Things. From 5G prototype base stations and mobile networks to commercial 5G chips and terminals, 5G-enabled remote driving, drone networks, smart city development, and even applications in surgical procedures—5G will make human life richer and more diverse, making tomorrow even brighter!
Today, I’d like to talk about some of the basic components of 5G: building base stations, network deployment, data transmission, technological integration, and the connection to Hasegawa’s U.FL connectors. Did you know that Hasegawa’s U.FL RF coaxial connectors can be used to build base stations, expand network coverage, and increase data throughput? The U.FL antenna sockets and matching antennas can meet a wide range of frequency requirements for various miniature devices. These connectors offer high-frequency performance from DC up to 6 GHz, with a V.S.W.R. ranging from 1.3 to 1.5 at most. This makes them highly beneficial for accelerating the advancement of 5G technology. It’s safe to say that as 5G technology matures and becomes more widespread, demand for U.FL RF coaxial connectors will only continue to grow.
There’s a clear connection between 5G technology and U.FL connectors. So, I’m sure many of you would like to learn more about U.FL connectors, right? Let’s take a closer look:
First, Hasegawa’s U.FL connectors are ultra-small surface-mount coaxial connectors available in standard heights of 1.9 mm, 2.3 mm, or 2.4 mm, with maximum heights of 2.0 mm, 2.4 mm, or 2.5 mm. Second, the U.FL antenna sockets have a small footprint—when mounted on a PCB, they occupy just 7.7 square millimeters and weigh only 15.7 mg. Moreover, these connectors support high-frequency transmissions up to 6 GHz and can be automatically placed onto circuit boards. The U.FL antenna sockets are paired with ultra-thin coaxial cables (fluororesin-insulated) to achieve termination. Standard 0.81 mm diameter ultra-fine coaxial cables (single-braided shielded) are used for plug termination, ensuring a secure and stable connection. These coaxial cables come in various outer diameters, and when installing, you can use available extraction tools to ensure proper disconnection of plugs and sockets. A tactile click confirms that mating conditions are fully met, guaranteeing both electrical and mechanical integrity. Finally, Hasegawa’s U.FL RF coaxial connectors meet halogen-free environmental standards, complying with the IEC61249-2-21 definition of a maximum Br content of 900 ppm and a maximum Cl content of 900 ppm, with a combined maximum of 1,500 ppm for Cl + Br.
Hasegawa’s U.FL connectors have extremely broad applications—they can be used in mobile phones, wireless communication devices, electronic measuring instruments, GPS systems, wireless LANs, Bluetooth devices, and any application requiring high-frequency transmission via small coaxial connectors. Currently, we offer two models of U.FL connector sockets: one is U.FL-R-SMT-1(10), available in rolls of 2,500 units, and the other is U.FL-R-SMT-1(80), available in rolls of 10,000 units. We also provide a variety of matching cable types at excellent prices. Both of these models are our core stock items, featuring genuine HRS quality—you can rest assured when purchasing them. Transactions are simple and flexible, and we can deliver domestically and internationally, accepting payments in US dollars, Hong Kong dollars, or RMB. We’re professional and trustworthy, and we look forward to working with you.
The widespread adoption of 5G technology will be a great blessing for humanity. I’m delighted that we can contribute our modest efforts to the development of 5G. I hope this has given you a better understanding of 5G and that you’ll enjoy our products. If you’re a business partner in need of U.FL connectors, feel free to contact me anytime.
